The Seven Laws
1. Prohibition of Idolatry (Avodah Zarah)
We are commanded to worship the one true God, the Creator of the heavens and the earth.
2. Prohibition of Eating the Limb of a Living Animal (Eber Min HaChai)
We are instructed to abstain from consuming animals that are ritually unclean and blood.
3. Prohibition of Theft (Gezel)
We are commanded to respect the property of others and refrain from stealing or taking what is not ours.
4. Commandment to Establish Courts of Justice (Dinim)
Create fair laws, courts, and legal systems to ensure these rules are followed and society remains safe and just.
5. Prohibition of Blasphemy (Birkat Hashem)
We are commanded to honor the divine name and refrain from speaking ill of the Almighty.
6. Prohibition of Murder (Shefijat Damim)
We are instructed to value human life and refrain from taking the life of another.
7. Prohibition of Forbidden Sexual Relations (Guiluy Arayot)
We are commanded to uphold the sanctity of the body and refrain from engaging in unnatural acts.
